Yin and Yang

Yin and Yang

The Tao.
Simple,
Like a cloud drifting through an empty sky.
Effortless,
Like the last leaf falling off a tree.

The Tao.
As pure as the snow at the peak of a mountain.
As clear as the reflection looking back at you in a puddle.

The Tao is warm.
The Tao is bright.
The Tao is everything.
The Tao is white.

The Tao.
Rigid,
Like the spine on the back of a newly printed book.
Messy,
Like a kindergartener's art project.

The Tao.
As corrupt as today’s society.
As clouded as a window pane after a shower.

The Tao is cool.
The Tao is dim.
The Tao is nothing.
The Tao is black.

  3. I really like how you compared the Tao to other things in life, it really makes the poem meaningful, and it makes the reader think about their surroundings.
