Blank Canvas
The need to belong
Forget it
The need for a fixed plan
Forget it
The need to conform
To be like everyone else
Forget it
The single light
Floating in the night
The lone shadow
Cast in a ray of shine
Yin and Yang
Not one alike
Be the blank canvas
untouched by others
To set course with a single brush
The question one has
What is my purpose
The Way
The Tao
Only one can find through self
A single brush
No right or wrong

I really liked your imagery in the poem, especially in the second and third paragraphs/stanzas and I really like your message of simplicity/not having a fixed path.
ReplyDeleteThis was really good. I liked the title a lot and the repetition in the first stanza.
ReplyDeleteI liked the repetition in your first stanza and the comparison that you use, a blank canvas signifying that one should not conform to society.
ReplyDeleteI really like your poem! You make clear analogies that really represent what the Tao is all about, and the repetition is a great addition to emphasizing your point. Nice job
